Our CommitmentWe take great pride in our photography, particularly our wedding photography. Our photography means more to us than just a business. We have the best of equipment*, and we take great pains in our post processing to make sure the finished product is free of flaws. Our post processing may include:
We will participate in four elements of the wedding: wedding preparation (at the bride's home), the ceremony, the formal shots and the reception. Participation during the ceremony will be at the discretion of the bridal party and the minister/official. We DO NOT do studio work. Our packages include formal shots, ceremony shots, and reception candids. We will guarantee you at least 200 shots from which to choose. We will travel to strange places to shoot your wedding if you so desire and if it's within our physical capacity. I don't know if we can make it to the top of Gros Morne anymore. Give us enough time to get in shape and we'll try it. :-)
We like this effect, though it's not for everyone. It's colour on black and white.
This effect involves changing the background to a water colour while maintaining the original foreground. (This is not a backdrop; it is the original background. This picture was taken on Laurencetown Beach in Nova Scotia.)
Only the family of the groom is in colour.
Wedding Packages
These prices will be re-evaluated at the end of January, 2010*We will stay until the cake cutting, bouquet toss, first dances IF this is all completed before 10:00 p.m.. If you want us to stay later than that, talk to us beforehand. Make sure you include meals for us in your plans. We'll travel just about anywhere to do a wedding. We enjoy it. We will charge actual travel expenses with no consideration for the extra time involved. (By “anywhere”, we mean ANYWHERE. We will travel anywhere in Newfoundland, Canada, the world. Our prices are so reasonable, if you live in Toronto it may be cheaper for you to pay our expenses to Toronto than to hire a Toronto wedding photographer with comparable skills to ours for $5000.00 a pop.) NOTE: With the exception of Package Two, you have full right to the pictures for personal use. You may distribute, publish in newspapers, have as many prints made as you wish. We retain ownership of the digital negatives and may use them on our Wedding Gallery as samples. We may NOT sell your pictures without your consent. We MAY use them for other publicity purposes. Any negative we PRINT for publicity purposes, we will also give you a free copy of that print in the size printed. We can negotiate any other arrangements you may wish to make. (Aside: My wife and I spend from 80 to 100 hours working on the average wedding. We start on Saturday and usually do not finish until the following Friday. In addition we will spend considerable extra time working on specials and books. We're working for far less than minimum wage. I say that just in case you think you don't get your money's worth.) Further Information: (Just in case you're interested) After we get back from the wedding, we follow this process:
Also worth noting: With packages one and three you can download your files and get them printed where ever you choose; however, there are advantages to having them printed directly from the gallery:
Click on any of the thumbnails below to see them full sized.
Wedding books can be done with any package. Outside the packages, the cost of the first book (8 by 10), will be $175.00. Additional 8 by 10 books will be $125.00 and 5 by 7 will be $95.00. Other arrangements can always be made. Contact us: art@edgeoftheworldphoto.com
709 632-7095 (Business) 709 686-2940 (home) Hints:With all packages, we will follow a shot list as prepared by the bride and groom for the formal shots. We may suggest additional shots. We'd like to go over the shot list with you BEFORE the wedding. Large, formal weddings require considerable time for the formal shots. Sometimes it is best to take as many of the formal shots as possible BEFORE the ceremony when everyone is at his/her best. Give this some consideration. This also saves time after the ceremony. It's good to have plan "B" for outdoor shots. High, bright overcast is best for outdoor shots; bright, sunny days are the most difficult to shoot. Dull days are no problem. See what you can do about that. ;-) For the formal shots it is best to start with the largest groups and then subtract. This frees people up more quickly. The master of ceremonies or the wedding planner can help with collecting people for the shots if the list is prepared beforehand. We do not know the group, so we'll need help. Good preparation can make this go quickly and smoothly. We take our time with the shots though and will take several of each group. If possible, we will check with the minister/official to find his/her preference with regard to shots during the ceremony. You may want to check this out also. Please request that only the official photographer take shots during the ceremony if shots are to be taken. For the formal shots, other people taking shots can be a problem, especially if they're telling people to look at their cameras. They're welcome to take pictures of each group, but they should wait until after each formal shot is taken. Please try to book us as far in advance as possible. The summer of 2009 is filling up quickly. Our motto: Personal Professionalism. *Our latest equipment includes complete Nikon wireless technology which allows wireless lighting control and wireless camera control. This allows for the photographer to be as unobtrusive as possible while allowing lighting possibilities that simply weren't possible until quite recently. We work with at least three cameras, each dedicated to a specific kind of shot and providing redundancy on formal shots. Instant viewing on an Apple Macbook allows for immediate fine tuning of exposure, composition, and other critical factors such as white balance and colour saturation. |
